| 看護者ががんやがん患者に対して否定的なイメージを持つことは，看護者の不安につながりケア行動に影響を及ぼす．看護基礎教育において学生が，がん，がん患者に対する適切なイメージを持てる ような教育が必要である．目的はがん看護学の講義および実習の前後における看護学生のがん，がん患者に対するイメージとイメージの変化を質的に明らかにすることである．看護学生4年次45名ががん看護学の講義および実習前後に提出した「がんに対するイメージ」，「がん患者に対するイメージ」 のレポートをデータとした．がん，がん患者，がん看護ということばから思い浮かぶ感情，言葉，様子や全体的な印象が記述されている内容を抽出し，コード化した．コード化したものをカテゴリー化し，がんに対するイメージ，がん患者に対するイメージとして分類した．がんに対するイメージとして，がん看護学の講義および実習前では【不快】，【太刀打ちできない】，【様々な苦しみがある】，【影響が甚大】，【決断を迫る】，【望みがある】，【他人事ではない】，【病態に多様性がある】，【良い面もある】が抽出された．講義および実習後には，【共に生きる】，【特別ではない】が抽出された．がん患者に対するイメージとして，がん看護学の講義および実習前では【様々な苦しみをもっている】，【弱くなっている】，【死に向かう】，【近づきにくい】，【以前と同じ生活ができない】，【頑張って生きている】，【力強さがある】，【多様性がある】，【生活しているひとりの人】が抽出された．講義および実習後には，【周囲の人に支えられている】，【自分らしい生活をしている】，【大切なことを知っている】，【がんと共に生きている】が抽出された．看護学生は，マイナスのイメージだけでなくプラスのイメージももっており，講義および実習後には，弱さも強さも合わせもつというイメージを形成していた． | ||||||||||

| Purpose: To clarify nursing students’perceptions of cancer and cancer patients and the changes in their perceptions. Methods: Data were collected from reports on the perceptions of cancer and cancer patients submitted by 45 nursing students before and after lectures on cancer nursing and clinical practice opportunities. The contents describing perceptions were extracted, encoded, and categorized. Results: As perceptions of cancer, [uncomfortable], [insurmountable], [various form of pain], and [hope] were extracted before the aforementioned lectures and clinical practice, while [living together] and [not special] were extracted afterwards. As perceptions of cancer patients, [suffering various forms of pain], [unable to lead the same life as before], and [struggling to live] were extracted before the lectures and practical experiences, while [supported by surrounding people], [leading life in their own way], and [knowing something important] were extracted afterwards. Discussion: After the lectures and the clinical practice, the nursing students formed their perceptions of cancer patients as having both weakness and strength. | ||||||||||
