| 本研究は，中学校教師を対象とし「生」と「死」の教育の認識について調査を行い，その対応について明らかにすることを目的とした．具体的には，中学校教師153名を対象に質問紙調査を行い「生」と「死」に関する教育の必要性，教育開始時期，担当教科または教科外，教育カリキュラムの内容などについてそれぞれ検証した．その結果，中学校教師の考える「生」と「死」に関する教育の望ましい開始年齢については,「生」の教育の望ましい開始年齢は，6歳から8歳と回答した教師が28.1% と最も多く，次いで9歳から11歳と回答した教師が23.5% であった．「死」に関する教育の開始年齢としては12歳から14歳が望ましいと回答した教師が最も多く22.2%，次いで9歳～11歳と回答した教師が21.6% であった．また，中学校教師が「生」の教育を開始した後に「死」の教育を行うことを望んでいると推察され，「生」と「死」の教育の新たな在り方の可能性を示唆する結果である． | ||||||||

| This study sought to shed light on how educators approach teaching about life and death by conducting a survey of junior high school teachers about their thoughts on education about life and death. The written survey asked 153 junior high school teachers specific questions on the necessity of education on life and death, when the topic is first introduced, whether it is included in the curriculum of a certain subject or dealt with in an extracurricular context, and so on. Among the study results, when asked what would be the ideal age to begin education on life, the largest number of respondents, 28.1%, answered ages 6 to 8. The second largest group, at 23.5%, answered ages 9-11. Asked what would be the ideal age group in which to introduce the topic of death, the largest number of respondents, 22.2%, answered ages 12 to 14, while 21.6% of respondents, the second largest group, answered ages 9 to 11. The study indicated that junior high school teachers found it ideal to begin education on the topic of death after first covering material related to life, which points to the existence of a new paradigm in education on the subject of life and death. | ||||||||
