看護学生のコミュニケーション・スキルの特徴を，高齢者とのコミュニケーションに注目し明らかにすることを目的とした．Ａ大学の2年次および3年次の看護学生246名を対象に，コミュニケーション・スキル（ENDCOREs，NCSI）および高齢者とのコミュニケーションで心がけていることについて，無記名自記式質問紙調査を行った．有効回答数は92であった．分析の結果，Ａ大学の看護学生はENDCOREs では「表現力」「自己主張」のスキルが低く，特にNCSI 低群では，「言語表現」「独立性」「論理性」に課題があること示された．看護学生は高齢者とのコミュニケーションにおいて，【高齢者の特徴と理解度に合わせた表現方法】，【受容と尊重】，【良好な関係づくり】を心がけていた. 老年看護実践に求められるコミュニケーション・スキルの育成においても，「自分の考えを論理的にまとめて表現するスキル」の強化が課題となることが示唆された． |

This study aimed to clarify features of communication skills of nursing students by focusing on communication with the elderly. We conducted an anonymous self-administered questionnaire survey of 246 2nd and 3nd year nursing students at University A about their communication skills using ENDCORs and NCSI, and their attitudes toward communication with the elderly. The number of valid responses was 92. As a result of the analysis, nursing students of University A had low skills in “expressiveness” and “self-assertion” in ENDCOREs, and in the NCSI low group, there were problems in “language expression”, “independence”, and “logic”. In communicating with the elderly, the nursing students tried, “expression methods based on the characteristics and understanding of the elderly”,“ reception and respect”, and“ building good relationships”. It was suggested that strengthening“ the skill of logically summarizing and expressing one’s thoughts” is also an issue in the development of communication skills required for gerontological nursing practice. |
