ラオス農村部におけるスマートフォンの普及の実態，およびスマートフォンによる高校生，親世代， 高校教員の生活の変化と影響を明らかにすることを目的とした．ラオス北部の2農村地域において， 高校生男子と女子，親世代男性と女性，高校教員のそれぞれ5グループのフォーカスグループインタビューを行った．高校生のスマートフォン利用実態としては，SNS，電子教科書の利用，翻訳機能の 利用，情報検索，カメラ，音楽，ゲームなど多岐にわたっており，学習・生活・娯楽の全場面において活発に利用されていた．特に，学習面においては，従来，紙媒体の教科書が全員にいきわたらなかっ たのに対して，電子教科書は広くダウンロードされ，活用されていた．ラオスでは，現段階ではいわゆるスマホ依存症は注目されていないが，今後健康障害の予防についての取り組みも重要になると考えられる．また，親世代がスマートフォンに興味を持っていないことから，子どもの使用に関する危険性の認識が低いと考えられ，世代間でデジタル・デバイドが生じつつあるといえる．さらに，学校や家庭でメディアリテラシーを含めたスマートフォンの使用に関する教育はされておらず，今後の課題といえる． |

This study aims to clarify the impact of changes in lifestyle caused by increased use of smartphones among high school students, older people, and high school teachers living in rural Laos. Additionally, we will consider how methods of health education and effective distribution of information may change in light of future developments in IT in the field of healthcare and medicine and furthermore suggest ways of effectively utilizing such technology. Smartphone use among high school students covers a wide range of activities including the use of SNS and e-textbooks, translation, searching the Web for information, taking photographs, listening to music, playing games, etc., indicating that smartphones are utilized across a range of scenarios including learning, lifestyle, and entertainment. In particular, the use of smartphones in education has meant that textbooks, which were not necessarily available to all students in paper form, are now widely available for download and use in electronic form. There is no attention currently being paid in Laos to the phenomenon of“smartphone addiction”, but the authors consider that efforts will be required in the future to prevent the emergence of smartphone-related health problems. |
