子どもの健やかな食生活の実現を支援するために，食を通じた子どもの健全育成と社会教育の充実から「食べる力」を育むための支援が求められている．小学校高学年児童を対象とした食育講座は，子どもだけではなく子どもを通じて保護者の食行動「食べる力」への波及効果がある．しかし，子ども自身，保護者自身および保護者からみた子どもの「食べる力」の実態は明らかでない．そこで，O県H町小学校高学年児童とその保護者に「食べる力」の実態を明らかにすることを目的としてアンケート調査をした．「食べる力」は，子ども自身の評価は69.8 ± 9.4 点，保護者自身の評価は70.0 ± 10.0点，保護者からみた子どもの評価は65.7 ± 10.3点であった．保護者からみた子どもの評価は，子ども自身の評価に比較して有意（ p＜0.01）に低かった．以上の結果より，「食べる力」は子ども自身の評価と保護者からみた子どもの評価に差があることが明らかとなった． |

To foster healthy eating habits in children, it is essential to support the formation of proper eating competence by improving programs for social education and healthy growth in children through food. However, there is a lack of concrete data on eating competence among children and parents, as well as on parents’perceptions of their children’s eating competence. Accordingly, we conducted a questionnaire survey of upper-grade elementary school children and parents living in H Town, O Prefecture, Japan, with the aim of assessing their eating competence. Children self-reported a mean eating competence score of 69.8 ± 9.4 points, while parents self-reported a mean score of 70.0 ±10.0 points. The mean eating competence score of children as perceived by their parents was 65.7 ± 10.3 points, which was significantly lower than the children’s self-reported scores (p < 0.01). This suggests that there is a gap between the way children perceive their own eating competence and the way that it is perceived by their parents. |
