本研究の目的は,祖父母との親密性と介護経験の両面から孫世代である大学生の介護観を検討すること,そして,孫世代が介護を実際にどの程度担うことができると考えているのかを介助に対する自信によって測定し,介護場面での孫世代の役割について検討することであった.その結果,祖父母との親密性が高い孫世代は,親密性の低い孫世代よりも家族介護意識と社会的介護意識の両方が高く,家族介護にとどまらず,介護を支援する社会資源にも目をむけていた.祖父母との親密性と介護経験の交互作用はいずれの介護意識においても認められなかった.また,孫世代は現時点で間接的な介助を行う自信があることが示され,介護場面において孫世代が重要な存在となり得ることが示唆された. |

This study investigated the influence of university students' (N=321) level of intimacy with their grandparents and their own caring experience on their perspective on caring for the elderly and their confidence in performing caring activities. Findings showed that students with greater levels of intimacy rated both home-based and formal or paid care services more desirable and were more positive in caring for the elderly and more confident in performing caring activities compared with those lower levels of intimacy. Grandchildren with more caring experience perceived formal or paid care services to be more desirable and were more positive in caring and more confident in doing caring activities. These findings were discussed in relation to the important role grandchildren assume in helping their parents to care for the elderly. |
