障害のある学生の教育的なニーズの把握や支援は大学の社会的責任(University Social Responsibility:USR)における重要な課題の1つである.本研究では,肢体不自由のある女子大学生を事例対象として,国際生活機能分類(ICF)を活用して学校生活における生活機能と障害を評価した.また,心拍数の長時間記録を手がかりに身体活動強度を推定し,ICFに反映されない身体的な負担度や弊害についても検討した.被験者は脳性麻痺による四肢麻痺があった(機能障害).そのため,歩行および移動に活動制限があり,それは滑りやすいスロープや手すりのない階段など環境的な阻害因子によってさらに増大した.被験者の友人や同僚との関係は学業や学内コミュニティへの積極的な参加を促すものであったが,一方で,普段コミュニケーションのないあるいは少ない対人関係や社会的態度は疎外感や参加制約をもたらした.心拍数記録からは,この障害学生の通常歩行や最速歩行の身体活動強度が,それぞれ,健常学生の最速歩行や走行の強度に匹敵することが明らかになった.本研究の結果から,大学の社会的責任を企画・実施する際には,物理的な環境の改善のみならず,障害の理解,対人関係,社会的態度に関わる教育・啓発,また,日常生活での過大な身体的負担に起因する過用症候や合併症の予防などに考慮すべきことが示唆された.また,多岐にわたる支援を組織横断的にコーディネートする際に,その専門領域である経営学の豊富な知識が有効に活用できると考えている.なお,本研究は肢体不自由のある大学生1名を対象とした事例研究であったが,引き続き被験者数を増やし,また,障害の範囲を広げて研究成果をより一般化していきたい. |

Understanding the educational needs of students with disabilities and how best to support them is one of the important issues in university social responsibility (USR). The present case study was performed to assess the functioning and disability in a university female student with motor disabilities using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and to estimate physical activity intensity by heart rate recordings during university life. Impairment of the subject resulted from quadriplegia due to cerebral palsy. The walking and moving were thus limited and activity limitations were more increased by such environmental barriers as slippery slopes and stairs without handrails. Her peers and colleagues facilitated active participation in university work and community, however inappropriate social and individual attitudes of unfamiliar community members led to subjective participation restriction. The heart rate recordings demonstrated that physical activity intensities during walking at an ordinary and a fast pace in the disabled student were equivalent to those during walking fast and running in healthy subjects, respectively. These results suggest that the USR should be focused not only on improvement of physical environment but also on educational activities concerning individual and social attitudes and the prevention of overuse symptoms and secondary complications due to greater intensity of daily physical activities. |
