本研究の目的は,在宅で生活する健常高齢者の入浴の現状及び入浴の安全性を左右する要因を明らかにすることである.研究方法は,高齢者の入浴に対する認識,行動及び判断等を内容とする調査用紙を作成し,研究対象として在宅で生活する健常高齢者と同居者の121組に調査を実施した.その結果,高齢者の大多数が入浴を好み,毎日の生活において入浴を必要だと思う者が多かった.入浴行動では,男性は女性に比べて,肩まで湯につかるものが有意に多かった(p<0.05).入浴するかどうかの判断に関しては,高齢者の約8割が安全な入浴可否判断基準を必要としていた.入浴に対する安全認識の高い高齢者と低い者で入浴前・中・後の行動を比較した結果,入浴前では湯温調整に5%,体温測定に1%,入浴後では休息に5%の有意差があった.前期高齢者との同居者は,高齢者の入浴に対する安全への配慮が後期高齢者との同居者よりも有意に低かった(p<0.05).以上の結果より,高齢者は入浴を好み,自らの判断で入浴行動をとっている者が多かったが,入浴行動にリスクを伴っていることも明らかになった.また,高齢者の入浴に対して同居者の関与も乏しかった.そのため,高齢者の入浴は絶対に安全ではないことを高齢者,同居者ともに認識する必要があること,また,安全な入浴行動が取れるような高齢者教育の必要性が示唆された. |

The purpose of this study is to clarify the present conditions and safety awareness concerning bathing of healthy, non-institutionalized elderly people and persons living with them. We have found that most of the elderly like bathing and that they also feel the necessity to bathe daily. They are aware of safe bathing. However, there is a special risk of the water level for males more than women as they are apt to soak up to their shoulder level. Eighty percent of the subjects use decision-making standards concerning their bathing. The ratios of the elderly who adjust the water temperature before bathing (p<0.05), who measure body temperature before bathing (p<0.01), and who take a rest after bathing (p<0.05) are greater than those who have a lower safety awareness. Most persons living with the elderly do not have much interest in the bathing of the elderly, especially those living with persons between 65-74 years of age for these reasons, it is suggested that the elderly and those who live with them should be aware of the risks in bathing. Further education for safe bathing is necessary. |
