英語表記の医学用語の語彙習得を目的として,2002年からe-learning教材を開発し,授業を行っている.本稿では,2005年度の医療系の大学と短期大学の2クラスに対し,学生の意識調査と成績について分析を行った.学生の意識調査から2つの因子を抽出し,「コンピュータに対する苦手意識」と「学習意欲」とした.「コンピュータに対する苦手意識」と「学習意欲」の間には-0.294の相関があり,「コンピュータに対する苦手意識」が高いと「学習意欲」が下がることを示す.「学習意欲」を2群に分けたとき,上位群はすべての客観テスト(到達度テスト,タイピングテスト,医学用語の読み仮名テスト)において,下位群より点数が高い.また,「学習意欲」の上位群は本システムの期待が開始前より終了後のほうが高く本システムをうまく活用していることが分かり,動機付けの大事さを改めて認識した. |

We have developed an e-learning system for medical English terminology and have used it in classes since 2002. In this paper, we analyzed students' attitude and achievement based on the data from two classes at a medical welfare university and a paramedical college in 2005. From the analysis of students' attitude, we found two factors that most significantly influenced attitude: a feeling of difficulty in dealing with computers and the motivation for learning. The inter-factor correlation coefficient between these two factors was -0.294, which indicates that the more difficult the use of a computer seems to be for the learner, the more the motivation for learning is affected. The students with higher motivation showed better results in all the tests (an achievement test, typing tests and reading tests of Japanese medical terms) than those with lower motivation. In addition, highly motivated students tended to evaluate the e-learning system after the course more than before the course. The importance of motivation for learning was recognized again. |
