| 2名の子どもの母子相互作用を16か月から18か月,20か月にわたり縦断的に観察し,マイクロ分析を行った.一方は通常の家庭環境で育っていたが,他方の養育環境は不十分であった.研究の目的は以下の3点であった:(1)共同的関わりの状態を同時注視(母子が同時に同一対象を見る),相互的な注視(母子が相手を見る),そして母子が相手の注意や行動を方向づける行動といった行動指標によって測定する,(2)共同的関わりが支持的な状態から協応的な状態へ移行する時期を,視線行動の変化をとおして確認する,(3)共同的関わりに表れる相互作用が養育環境と関連しているかどうかを,イベント・レコードから明らかにする.分析の結果,共同的関わりはこれらの行動指標によって記述することができ,支持的から協応的な状態への移行は,通常の家庭環境で育っている子どもについてだけ,20か月時に確認できた.そして,不十分な養育環境にある母子の相互作用では,行動指標間の不調和な生起が見られた. | ||||||||||

| Longitudinal microanalyses of infant-mother interaction were made for two children at 16, 18 and 20 months, with one infant being in a typical environmental condition and the other in an underprivileged condition. The analyses explored (1) whether the state of joint engagement could be defined by such behaviors as simultaneous looking (both infant and mother look at the same object at the same time), reciprocal looking (both look at each other), and actions that direct each other's attention or action, (2) whether that state would appear at 18 months, and (3) whether it would be better for the typical than for the underprivileged infant. Analyses showed that joint engagement was described by those behaviors. This state appeared at the age of 20 months only for the typical infant but not for the infant in the underprivileged condition. | ||||||||||
