| 本研究の目的は,日本人高齢者のスピリチュアリティ概念の構成要素とその構造を,文献的に明らかにすることである.まず,先行研究を概観し,日本におけるスピリチュアリティ概念をめぐる現状と課題について整理した.その結果,日本人のスピリチュアリティの構成概念が明確でないこと,高齢者のスピリチュアリティに関する研究が少ないことなどが明らかになり,質的な研究によって明確化する必要性のあることが示された.そこで,日本人高齢者を対象としており,スピリチュアリティの具体的内容を読み取ることのできる9文献を分析対象として,スピリチュアリティ概念の抽出と構造化を試みた.内容分析の手法を用いて検討した結果,日本人高齢者のスピリチュアリティは, 【生きる意味・目的】 【死と死にゆくことへの態度】 【自己超越】 【他者との調和】 【よりどころ】 【自然との融和】の6つの概念から構成されていることが示された.さらに,これら6概念は,関係や関心を持つ方向や内容から,「自己」「他者や環境」「超越的なもの」の3層からなる円内に重層的構造を成していることが明らかになった.また, 【死と死にゆくことへの態度】 【他者との調和】は高齢者において特に重要な概念である可能性が示唆された. | ||||||||||

| "This study was designed to clarify the components and structure of concepts of spirituality held by elderly Japanese, with reference to literature. First, previous studies were reviewed, and general issues related to the concept of spirituality in Japan were summarized. This survey revealed that the components of the concept of spirituality are obscure, and that few studies have been conducted on the spirituality of elderly people. This indicates the necessity of resolving these questions through qualitative studies. Therefore, nine previous papers containing concrete information about the spirituality of elderly Japanese were analyzed, to extract concepts related to spirituality and put them into some structural relationship. We used content analysis and found that the spirituality of elderly Japanese has six components; i.e., the significance and objectives of life, attitude toward death and dying, self-transcendence, harmony with other people, belief, and union with nature. It was also found that these six components could be stratified by the directions of relationship and interest, and by their contents into three concentric layers; i.e., ""self,"" ""other /environment"" and ""transcendence."" It was suggested that the concepts of ""attitude toward death and dying"" and ""harmony with other people"" may be particularly important to elderly people." | ||||||||||
