| 高機能自閉症は知的発達に著しい遅れが見られないために発見されにくく,そして障害特性から本人は家族からでさえ理解されにくい,受け入れられにくいという独自の困難性をもつ.このような状況にある高機能自閉症の子どもをもつ母親が,どのように子どもを受け入れていくのか,その障害受容過程を明らかにすることにした.調査内容は(1)個人の属性,(2)母親の心理過程,(3)周囲の人の子どもの障害に対する理解について,(4)医療・福祉機関との関係の有無についてである.また,特徴を明らかにするために知的障害を伴う自閉症との比較を行った. 調査の結果,知的障害の有無という大きな違いをもちながらも,仮定していた障害受容段階を単純には進んでいないことや,その過程で感じられている気持ちの内容にそれほど差はないということが明らかになった.さらに,子どもを育てていく環境として重要である周囲の人の障害に対する理解についても共通して得られにくい状況であることが分かった.これらは「自閉症」という共通部分が影響していると考えられた.高機能自閉症の場合では,「子どもが障害であるのかないのか収拾がつきにくい」という気持ちを特徴的に感じていた.また,障害が分かった時のショックである「精神的打撃」が,知的障害を伴う自閉症に比べ,かなり遅い時期に感じられていることが分かった.このような状況の中で,母親は医療機関以外の専門的な機関に相談することも少なく,親の会といった当事者グループに多く頼っている傾向が見られた. | ||||||||

| This investigation has been done to learn how mothers deal with this investigation their children being diagnosed with high functioning autism. Looked a four areas: (1) individual attribute, (2) mother's acceptance process, (3) recognition of high functioning autism by familiar people, and (4) the relation to medical and welfare facilities. In order to clarify these areas, they'll be children diagnosed with mentally retarded autism. As for the results of the investigation, both groups do not follow exactly the model course of so called grief-recovery stages and present no significant differences on the statistical contents. Understanding and sympathy to autism is not revealed easily from people who surround the children in both groups being compared, such as their family, relatives and people in the community. These results can be thought of as characteristic responses to autism. Even if they are high functioning or not, autistic children cannot be easily recognized and accepted. On the other hand, mothers of children with high functioning autism have some definite feeling of confusion about whether their own children suffer from the disorder or not. And mothers of high functioning kids remember their experiences in which their psychological blows were late as compared with mothers of retarded children. In these situations, mothers of high functioning autistic children have avoided visiting specialists in medical and other welfare facilities, and show traits of only depending on people of their parent-groups. | ||||||||
