| 本研究の目的は, わが国の医療サービス生産に関わる費用構造を実証的に把握することである.そのために, 投入要素価格と病院サービス生産量から構成されるTranslog型の病院費用関数を準備し, 1984～1997年のデータを用いて, 2段階最小自乗法により, パラメータを推定した.また, 推定した病院費用関数から, 短期および長期の病院費用曲線を導出することを試みた.分析の結果, わが国の医療福祉サービスの費用構造を解明し, 規模の経済の存在を検証するには, 病院費用関数がきわめて有効であること, 長期および短期の費用構造を把握するには, 病院の規模を表す変数を費用関数に加える必要があることが分かった. | ||||||||

| The purpose of this paper is to analyze empirically the hospital cost structure in Japan. The transcendental logarithmic cost function, which contains the input factor prices and the output of hospital services, is assumed. The two stage least square method is used to estimate the parameters of data from 1984 to 1997. This study tried to determine the short and long-run hospital cost curves. The conclusions drawn are that the estimated hospital cost function is an effective measure to verify the existence of scale economy in the hospital cost structure and to deduce the optimal scale of a hospital. Also it is important to include a scale factor of the hospital in the hospital cost function as an independent variable for analysing the short and long-run hospital cost structures. | ||||||||
