| ミルトンは19歳のときに, 彼の小さな姪, Anneの死を悼んで「咳が原因で亡くなった美しい幼な子の死によせて」を創作した.これは彼が英語で書いた最初の詩である.この追悼詩の中で「死」がどのように描かれているか, また, いかなるイメージが用いられているかを考察した.その結果, 「美しい幼な子」における天国の方が, ラテン語の追悼詩におけるそれよりも, 複雑な機能を持った場所として描かれていると言える. | ||||||||

| When he was nineteen, John Milton wrote a poem to mourn the death of his little niece, Anne. This is his first original poem written in English. I am going to examine how Milton described Death and also to discuss the images in the poem, Fair Infant. He illustrated heaven more deeply in Fair Infant than in his Latin Poems. | ||||||||
