| 高齢者に対する在宅ケアについて米国と比較し, わが国の在宅ケアの在り方について検討した.高齢化の進展に伴う医療や介護を要する老人の増加が, 米国でも問題となっている.そこで, ニーズの増大と主に医療費抑制の観点から, 施設ケアから在宅ケアへの移行が図られている.在宅ケアは高齢者のQuality of Lifeを高める上でも重要であり, わが国でも一層の推進が望まれている.米国では在宅ケアのニーズの増大に対応するため民間サービス機関の参入を図ると同時に, その質を確保するためのシステムを導入するなどの対策が取られている.わが国でも多様なサービスを効果的に提供し, 介護者の負担を軽減するための対策が求められてり, 各サービス提供機関の連携システムや民間サービスの導入などが必要となっている. | ||||||||||

| We consider what a desirable home care system for the elderly should be in Japan, in comparison with the United States. With aging society, the number of elderly persons who need medical treatment and heath care in the United States is growing. The shift from institutional care to home care is promoted by the increase of need and the restraint of medical expenses. This shift is expected to promote home care in our country as well, because it is useful to improve the quality of life of elderly persons. In order to cope with the growth of need, the United States takes measures to introduce private services and establishes the systems to secure the quality of home care. In Japan measures also should be taken to provide various services effectively and to reduce the burden of the families. Then we have to establish cooperation among service providers and introduce private services more effectively in our country. | ||||||||||
