| 統合保育の目的の一つとして, 障害児と健常児が共に生活していくことのできる人間性を形成することがあげられる.この人間関係の基礎となる交友関係の発達に, 言語が重要な役割を果たすことがこれまでに指摘されている.そこで, 著者らは言語発達程度が異なる2名の精神遅滞幼児を半年間にわたり観察し, 交友関係成立過程に言語遅滞の程度がどのような影響を及ぼすかを検討した.その結果, 言語遅滞が軽度であるA児は, 遊戯行動・対人関係・言語発達のいずれにおいても進歩が認められ, 交友関係の成立もみられた.一方, 言語遅滞がA児に比し重度であるB児は, 遊戯行動・対人関係・言語発達においてA児のような著しい進歩はみられず, 交友関係の発達もみられなかった.このことから, 言語能力が交友関係の発達に重要な役割を果たしていることを再確認した.遊戯行動・対人関係・言語発達は, 互いに関連し合い, 良循環を繰り返しながら発展していく.A児において, この3分野が同時に発達したのは, 言語能力が比較的高いために対人関係が円満になり, 遊戯行動も活発になっていくといったように, 3分野の間に良循環が成立したためであり, B児は言語遅滞が著しいために良循環が成立しなかったと考えられた.しかし, A児の場合, 流涎(よだれ)があるために他の幼児から多くの排斥を受け, これがA児の交友関係を阻害していた.B児は, 他児への無関心・反響言語・こだわり行動などの自閉症児特有の行動を示す精神遅滞児であり, この行動特性がB児の交友関係不成立を助長していた.このように, 精神遅滞児の衛生面での印象や, 自閉といった生来的な行動特性なども精神遅滞児の交友関係の発達を規定する要因の一つといえよう. | ||||||||||

| One purpose of early childhood integration is to strengthen social development without distinguishing between those children who are "developmentally" disabled and those who are not. It has been indicated that verbal communication has an important role in the social developmental process. In the study, two developmentally-disabled infants with different speech problems were studied for six months. The influence of children with standard speech development on the "developmentally disabled" subjects' social development was studied. As a result, subject A, whose speech development was mildly delayed, advanced in both speech and social development. Subject B, however, showed no advancement. The stated theory is that a "developmentally-disabled" child's social and verbal development will improve when the child is integrated with those children whose social and verbal skills develop at an age-appropriate level. Therefore, the positive result of subject A proves this theory. However, subject A was somewhat isolated from other infants because of his slaver. The negative results from subject B are a result of his autistic behavior, i.e., indifference to other infants, echolalia, perseveration. So it appears that the health impression and the specific "developmental disability", i.e. Downs Syndrone, autism, etc., are important factors in the social developmental process. | ||||||||||
