We analyzed the Courses of Study for Elementary Schools and the ommentary on the Courses of Study for Elementary Schools (General Provisions and Science) to examine “Viewpoints and Ways of Thinking” in science. As a result, it was clarified that the “Viewpoints and Ways of Thinking” in science is the key to deep learning, and that it is the viewpoint from which class improvement is promoted. Also, there are characteristic “Viewpoints” in science depending on the areas to be studied, and that four “Ways of Thinking” in science have been exemplified, and the activity of research is considered to be the hallmark of science.
