C. elegans were treated with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), sodium 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonate (TNBS), and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) as inflammatory mediators, and then Interleukin-6 (IL-6) was measured. In C. elegans treated with any of the inflammatory mediators, IL-6 levels were significantly increased compared to those in worms treated with no inflammatory mediator, but were significantly decreased by the addition of YBLPGL.
