This study was conducted as part of a larger study regarding nurses’ work-life balance, using anonymous self- administered questionnaires between June and September 2015. An analysis of 208 responses revealed that the most commonly experienced problems were scheduling and dealing with unexpected events, followed by the inability to arrange for night-time child care, and the lack of nurseries. Further, reliance on family members was more commonly reported than demands for improving work environments. Although around 80% of the participants noticed that their workplaces had provisions for shorter working hours and night shift exemptions, only about 44% had used them. In terms of the demands for the nurse administrators, the most commonly cited (42.5% of the responses) need was \"creating a culture that encourages the use of systems.\" We concluded that participants were unable to effectively use available child care support systems, demanding that their managers should create organizational climates with better and easier formal support systems and provisions. Thus, both establishing a child care system for nurses to maintain their work and fostering a culture where nurses can utilize the system are crucial. For the latter to be realized under the current shortage of nurses, mutual support among nurses and consistent efforts from nurse managers in promoting it are essential."}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-04-11"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"03 Ayumi SURUMOTO.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"154.2 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"PDF","url":"https://kwmw.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/14999/files/03 Ayumi SURUMOTO.pdf"},"version_id":"35353d15-bb31-430d-b82a-f59096555286"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"child care","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"work-life balance","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"work environment","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"nurses","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"A Survey on Nurses Balancing Child Care and Work","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"A Survey on Nurses Balancing Child Care and Work","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"1","owner":"23","path":["356"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2022-04-11"},"publish_date":"2022-04-11","publish_status":"0","recid":"14999","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["A Survey on Nurses Balancing Child Care and Work"],"weko_creator_id":"23","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-01-10T05:01:52.381533+00:00"}
