However, there are few reports evaluating the effects of a low salt diet education on persons in young adulthood. In this study, we conducted two measurements of estimated salt intake by random urinalysis and a salt intake frequency survey using a salt check sheet for the young participants to understand the existing situation. In addition, information on a low salt diet was provided once a month for four months from the first survey to the second survey, and the effect of salt intake was clarified. Eight of 17 patients showed improvement in estimated salt intake, and 9 patients did not. From the results, the estimated salt intake of the young participants improved by 47.1% because the salt reduction education motivated them to improve their eating habits. However, the salt intake frequency survey did not improve. By measuring the estimated salt intake and conducting a salt intake frequency survey,“estimated salt intake”is posted, and“which food group intake or eating behavior is related to salt overdose”is specified.
