A questionnaire survey was conducted for school-nurses at 1,500 schools randomly selected from elementary schools in Japan from September to October 2019. The number of responses was 433 (28.9%), and the number of valid responses was 401 (92.6%). The results showed that 90% of schools have children with food allergies, and 50% in those schools have carried out Epipen® prescriptions. In-school“Food Allergy”training schools had significantly more Epipen®-prescription-children than the non-training schools. Thus, it was suggested that to make teachers understood the current status of“Food Allergy”in school an in-school-training model was needed. School-nurses accounted for 90% of the in-school training planners. The relative number of school-nurses with low experience (less than 5 years) was small at the schools where the in-school training was conducted. It is necessary to build a system that allows Yogo teachers to demonstrate their abilities even if they are newly appointed.
