To ensure reliability and fairness of all research works in our institute, we have built and implemented“Code of Conduct of Researchers in Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare”and“Research Ethics Standards in Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare.”Based on those two institutional regulations, we have been executing a prevention plan for unauthorized use of research funds. To meet“Guidelines for management and inspection of public research funds in research institutes”by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, we have devised and executed this prevention plan comprised of 11 items. Among them, an e-learning program was introduced in 2016. Aiming at in-depth and thorough understanding of research ethics, we regularly invite outside lecturers and organize several compliance workshops on initiatives by the university, unauthorized use, conflict of interest, export control, intellectual property, etc. In particular, we often alert our faculty members to unauthorized use of public research funds such as Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research.
