This paper adopted a total of 21 previous studies from Ichushi-Web (Ver. 5). The results of the studies were summarized and classified depending on similarity and commonality as follows: siblings’ own experiences, family thoughts toward siblings, and support to siblings by medical staff. This classification reveals that the focus on children’s illnesses varies from acute or chronic illness to physical or mental impairment in research of siblings. Also, the experiences of siblings are different between life-threatening diseases like childhood cancer and life-long disability, and it showed that medical staff are required to support siblings according to children’s illnesses. Among the 6 studies focusing on the siblings themselves, there is just one study focusing on minors. This means that the thoughts of siblings and the actual conditions of siblings are not clear enough.
