Forty-four first year and forty-nine fourth year students studying with a physical therapy major at a university participated in this study. A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was used. We analyzed the data and using both the year of study and the workplace as independent variables. Results showed that both the first and fourth year students had a more positive attitude to working in medical facilities. The results suggested that possible reasons for this attitude were that care workplaces were perceived as having lower prospects, lower salary and a lower professional standard. In particular, when compared with first year students, fourth year students had a stronger perception of the negative aspects of working in a care facility.
