With this change in the family's function, the family's ability to take care of its ill or weak members is decreasing. As a result, the need for home caring and nursing has greatly more visiting nursing services increased, More help from outside the home is needed for old people and their families. So in nursing it is necessary to help the family to develop and regain its original function of caring for its members. This time, we studied families that are taking care of old people, looking at the family structurally according to the system-theory approach. We applied, over a period of time, S.Minuchin's family- system theory to three non-functional case of the sub-system of patient and main care-giver and in each case the sub-system changed for the better healthy functional one.
