A survey was conducted among nursing and medical students on their awareness of ethical codes of practice. A case was presented where a patient, after surgery for a malignant tumor, asked a nurse about her medical condition. The nurse was unable to give her the information, but later consulted with the doctor, at the same time the nurse stated that the patient had the right to know the truth. The doctor did not agree. The two groups of students were asked to evaluate the nurse's opinion.
