Initial efforts to educate people about death were begun in the latter half of the nineteen-eighties . Thereafter, this effort to help people be better informed about death has gradually increased . At present, efforts are being made to determine the best ways to promote this education. Inviting the public to lectures at universities is one of the common ways to keep the public informed. However, lectures on death comprised less than 1 % of these presentations. In order to enlarge the number of people knowledgable about death, it is necessary that the number of presentations be increased and programs at other facilities, such as community centers, added. However, just increasing the number of presentations is not the only solution.
